Miss RuthAnne Eleanor Cornett arrived on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 1:50 pm. She weighed 8 pounds and 8 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. These were some of her first pictures. Please note the haggard look on Mom and Dad's face...they don't tell you everything about delivery...
About the big day... My contractions started around 6:00 am. Robbie had an important meeting at work that day, so it was decided that he would go on into work and we would call in the mother to stay with me. Mom came to the house around 9:00 am and we watched "A Baby Story" for inspiration. By 10:00am my contractions were 3 and 4 minutes apart so I called Robbie and he and his mother met us at the hospital around 11:00am. (He had just finished his meeting so it was good timing) By 1:00pm I was in a room and finally admitted. They tried the epidural at this point and it didn't work--AT ALL! Around 1:20pm I was screaming for them to break my water so we could get it all over with. They broke my water and the doctor showed up about 10 minutes later and she arrived at 1:50pm.
The Lord is so kind to let mother's forget about all the pain of delivery; however, we have since found out that father's do NOT forget quite so quickly. Robbie says it will be a while before he is ready to do that again...
