Our last night...we hope!

Well, as you may have guessed from the two posts in one day...we are a little bored, but how thankful we are even for boredom...this means we are not trying to soothe a crying baby or keep her IV from pulling out or trying to take blood or all the many other things that happen with a sick baby in the hospital. Tonight we have been eating and playing...below are some highlights...

Nana has stayed with us two days now. I don't think we would have made it without the grandparents, and as you can see, RuthAnne really enjoys them being here too!

PEEK-A-BOO Daddy! The first picture is RA trying to look around the door to "find" her Daddy and the second is her "spying" on him through the crack in the door...

And here's what we all wanted to see for so long now...eating! :-)

Cards and Crawling

We wanted to say thank you for all the cards we have received. RuthAnne LOVES cards she will sit and play with them for a long, long time. Here she is this morning helping Daddy read all our cards...

Although RA was not crawling when we arrived at the hospital...she is now! It appears we will be bringing home a crawling baby...

Here's RA displaying her "after my IV hair-do"...

Here she is helpin GM with her pocketbook...

And another highlight of our day... Aunt Linda came to visit!!!

Hospital

Well, hopefully this will be our last and only post from the hospital...for those of you who haven't heard, RuthAnne has been in the hospitl for the last 8 days because she started refusing all food. We are now in Knoxville's Children's Hospital, but hoping to come home tomorrow!!!!!!!!! We are so excited! Below are some highlights of our hospital stay...

These were taken on Monday while GrandMama and GrandDaddy were visiting. Hopefully you will see as our time progressed RuthAnne perked up and started looking like she was feeling better.

This was one of our favorite pastimes here in our room...RuthAnne liked to look out the window and watch the cars and people go by. She would even wave sometimes...

Here are pictures of our IV progress...in the first picture, RuthAnne and I are saying "YEAH!" they had just removed her IV from her arm because it had failed... Of course we did not know at the time what was to follow, but when they had to start up her IV again, the technician said "Mom, I only see this vein in her head"...and I said go for it. While it looks a little funny. This was the easiest site that we have had during our entire hospital stay... Getting this site cleaned up might be a different story...RuthAnne said, "Do you like my antennas?" :-)

And last but not least...this picture was taken just a little while ago...LOOK at how far Jesus has brought our baby...We are so grateful to see such bright eyes and a happy face!

Laughing

My new play time

RuthAnne has just recently discovered how much fun it is to pull toys out of her basket. It is wonderful entertainment! We have her playpen set up in the kitchen and she will work at the toys for about 15 minutes...pulling each one out, giving it a chew and then discarding it. Once she gets to the bottom of the basket she starts fussing, so I go and put all the toys back in the basket (I know, I'm a mean Mama!) and she will do it all over again...here she is enjoying her toys in the living room. You can see that it is quite a basket to work through!
